Energiewende erFAHREN Bike Tour 2025: A Journey Across Germany's Energy Transition

The Energiewende erFAHREN bike tour is set to take place from August 31 to September 6, 2025, traversing Germany and highlighting the country's commitment to the energy transition. Organized by the Landesverband Erneuerbare Energien NRW (LEE NRW), the tour will cover approximately 645 kilometres, passing through North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Brandenburg before culminating in Berlin.

The tour serves as a unique opportunity for more than 100 participants to engage with various renewable energy projects and communities actively contributing to sustainable energy. One such guided ride, the "Landpartie – Energie (er)fahren," takes place on August 31, 2025, near Marienfeld. The ride will visit the PaWA Bioenergie GmbH to learn about biomass energy, followed by a local café, a private wind turbine, and a closing event back in Marienfeld.

Throughout the tour, participating organizations include renewable energy companies like PaWA Bioenergie GmbH, guided by local experts such as guest guide Bärbel Tophinke. The broader bike tour integrates various stakeholders promoting renewable energies and sustainable infrastructures along the route.

A key feature of the Energiewende erFAHREN bike tour is the "Golden Book of the Energy Transition." This symbolic representation serves as a platform for sharing impressions, ideas, and political demands related to the energy transition. Contributions from visited locations during the tour will be compiled in this book, which will later be presented to parliamentarians in Berlin, underscoring the tour's political significance.

The route of the tour starts in Heek, western Münsterland, and will visit various innovative projects such as wind farms, solar fields, biogas plants, battery storage facilities, and hydroelectric power plants. The tour is a tradition for the fifth time, aiming to accelerate the transition to renewable energies.

Representatives from other state associations and the Federal Association of Renewable Energies (BEE) will also participate in the tour. The cyclists will present the "Golden Book of the Energy Transition" to parliamentarians in Berlin at the end of the tour, marking the culmination of the tour's impact on the energy transition discourse.

For detailed routes and all participating organizations for the full 2025 tour, contacting the event organizer or checking their official website closer to the event dates is recommended.

Participants on the Energiewende erFAHREN bike tour will engage with various renewable energy projects, including biomass energy (PaWA Bioenergie GmbH) and wind turbines, as part of a guided ride named "Landpartie – Energie (er)fahren." The bike tour also includes financing-related discussions, as it aims to promote renewable energies and sustainable infrastructure investments within the environmental science industry. The tour's political significance is highlighted by the "Golden Book of the Energy Transition," which compiles contributions from visited locations and will be presented to parliamentarians in Berlin.
