Alberta AAIP Issues 158 Invitations in May 2025 Draws
Alberta's Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has conducted recent draws on May 13 and May 15, 2025, issuing a total of 158 invitations for provincial immigration. This includes the second general draw under the Alberta Opportunity Stream and the second draw under the newly introduced Tourism and Hospitality Stream.
The May 13 draw, the second general draw under the Alberta Opportunity Stream this year, issued 125 invitations. This pathway focuses on professionals in various sectors, with a cut-off score of 76. Previously, draws under this stream targeted professionals in aviation and construction.
The May 15 draw, the second under the Tourism and Hospitality Stream, issued 33 invitations. Introduced in 2024 to address labor shortages, this stream aims to help businesses retain workers. Candidates must have been working for a tourism or hospitality business in Alberta for at least six months, have a valid full-time job offer, and meet education and language requirements. The cut-off score for this draw was 72.
With these draws, Alberta has now issued 2,077 nominations out of its 4,875 slots for the 2025 nomination allocation. Invited candidates can apply for provincial nomination and, if successful, use the nomination to apply for Canadian permanent residence. The AAIP continues to support Alberta's labor market and economy through these immigration streams.
