Amazon and Vietrade join forces for an e-commerce partnership, aiming to push Vietnamese businesses into international markets.
V-Brands Go Global with Amazon: Empowering Vietnamese Businesses
In a strategic move to boost the e-commerce sector in Vietnam, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) and Amazon Global Selling Vietnam have launched the "V-Brands Go Global" initiative in July 2025. This partnership aims to help Vietnamese businesses embrace global e-commerce, increase export value, promote innovation, and enhance competitiveness on the international stage through digital trade.
The program, set to run from 2025 to 2027, aims to support 1,000 Vietnamese enterprises in enhancing their export activities through e-commerce and strengthen the global presence of 30 Vietnamese national brands.
The initiative will be implemented in two main phases focused on technology, training, and innovation.
Phase 1: Online Export Promotion Training
In this phase, 20 specialized online courses will be delivered to improve the professional skills of 1,000 Vietnamese businesses in online export. These courses are designed to equip businesses with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the global e-commerce landscape.
Phase 2: On-site Support and Branding Guidance
In the second phase, a series of events will be organized in cities and provinces such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh, and Hai Phong. These events aim to guide manufacturers in transitioning towards global branding and export models.
Amazon is tailoring its approach to support two key industrial belts: the Northern High-tech & Textile Belt and the Southern Manufacturing & Agri Belt. The Northern High-tech & Textile Belt will benefit from the region's growing semiconductor sector, ICT infrastructure, and garment manufacturing base. The Southern Manufacturing & Agri Belt will leverage its strengths in furniture, electronics, and speciality agricultural exports.

Larry Hu, head of Amazon Global Selling Southeast Asia, emphasized the growing role of e-commerce in Vietnam's trade strategy, stating that e-commerce exports are emerging as a critical driver in international trade and brand development. Vu Ba Phu, director general of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade), emphasized the importance of diversifying trade promotions in the digital environment as a prerequisite for improving the competitiveness, adaptability, and sustainable development of Vietnamese enterprises on the international stage.
Le Thi Duyen, founder and CEO of wellness brand eHerbal, shared her success story, stating that the platform has helped her business grow by transitioning from traditional herbal knowledge to modern, globally accepted wellness formulations, all while building a trusted Vietnamese brand. Vietnamese firms are seeing surging growth on Amazon, with more than 60% of sales on the platform originating from third-party sellers, including thousands of Vietnamese businesses.
In addition to promoting online exports, developing industry ecosystems, enhancing logistics capabilities, and training seller partners, Amazon is also supporting industrial clusters in northern and southern Vietnam. iDEA, VIETRADE, and MVV Academy have launched an online learning system for female-owned enterprises to further empower women in the business sector.
This initiative marks a step forward in recognizing cross-border e-commerce as a vital engine for export growth and brand development. As more Vietnamese businesses embrace e-commerce, we can expect to see a surge in Vietnamese products on the global marketplace, fostering a robust industrial ecosystem and strengthening Vietnam's position on the world stage.
