Gearing Up for the Pforzheim Economic Award Gala
Get ready to celebrate innovation and entrepreneurial spirit as we dive into the 11th annual Pforzheim Economic Award! Held at the CongressCentrum's grand hall, this prestigious event honors exceptional individuals making waves beyond the city limits.
Crafted by the municipal enterprise for the economy and city marketing in Pforzheim (WSP), the Pforzheim Economic Award recognizes entrepreneurs in three categories: "Innovation and Idea," "Brand and Image," and "Lifetime Achievement." A handpicked jury, consisting of the mayor, WSP directors, representatives from IHK, the Chamber of Crafts, the employment agency, Sparkasse, Volksbank, and more, chooses the winners.
This year, the spotlight shone on Dr. Andreas Kämpfe, CEO of Witzenmann GmbH, in the "Innovation and Idea" category. Witzenmann has shown remarkable strides in pushing the envelope of technology, making it the standout choice. Dr. Ulrich Schulze, director of Siloah St. Trudpert Clinic, took home the gold in the "Brand and Image" category, thanks to his clinic's unwavering dedication to holistic wellness and medical excellence. Last but not least, Dr. Herbert Mohr-Mayer, long-time owner and CEO of Schmuckmanufaktur Victor Mayer GmbH & Co. KG, received the "Lifetime Achievement" award for his tireless contributions to the city's thriving jewelry industry.
This award, a brainchild of WSP director Oliver Reitz in 2013, is a beacon for those who go above and beyond in driving economic growth and fostering innovative ideas. Each winner was treated to a captivating film portrait and a touching laudation. Professor Dr. Ulrich Jautz, rector of the University of Pforzheim, praised Dr. Andreas Kämpfe, while Martin Keppler, chairman of the supervisory board of the evangelical diakonie association Siloah, showered praise on Dr. Ulrich Schulze. The laudation for Dr. Herbert Mohr-Mayer came from Burkhard Thost, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. The beautifully crafted awards, designed by Pforzheim jewelry designer Oliver Schmidt, were handed out by Mayor Peter Boch and Oliver Reitz.
