Aragon Energy Groups Urge RDL 7/2025 Approval to Boost Sector and Economy
Aragonese energy sector associations, including CEOE Aragón, Clenar, and UNEF, have appealed to political parties' institutional responsibility. They urge the approval of Royal Decree-Law (RDL) 7/2025 before its scheduled vote in the Congress of Deputies on October 15, 2025. The regulation aims to bolster the electricity system and reduce energy costs for key sectors.
The RDL 7/2025, if approved, will facilitate the development of storage and hybridization with existing installations. This will accelerate its implementation, enhancing energy security and business competitiveness. The associations believe the regulation will provide security of electricity supply and certainty to investors, while promoting energy sovereignty and electrification.
The development of self-consumption and energy communities is seen as an opportunity to revitalize rural areas and combat depopulation. It also offers new prospects for young people and freelancers. The regulation aims to reduce energy costs for key sectors of the Aragonese economy, such as agroindustry, automotive, logistics, and electro-intensive industry. This could strengthen Aragon's energy leadership and industrial competitiveness.
The non-approval of RDL 7/2025 could have serious consequences, including exposure to future crises, loss of international competitiveness, paralysis of investments, and energy dependence and vulnerability to geopolitical uncertainty. The associations urge a future vision and collaboration for a more competitive, secure, and modern Aragon and Spain.
