Bavaria's Environmental and Climate Agreement Honors Committed Businesses in Kelheim County

Bavarian Companies Embrace Sustainability Through Climate Pact

In Bavaria, a growing number of companies are committing to environmental and climate action, with four local businesses recently recognised for their efforts by the Bavarian State Government. Among these companies are Wiesmayer Kunststofftechnik GmbH, Lentner Hopfentechnik, Lotter-Objekt Möbelwerkstätten GmbH, and OmniCert Umweltgutachter GmbH, all part of the Bavarian Environment and Climate Pact.

Established in 1995, this unique cooperation platform between the Bavarian state government and industry focuses on environmental and climate issues. Through collaboration with public authorities and other business partners, participating companies can share best practices and experiences about climate protection strategies, fostering innovation and improving environmental performance.

One of the key benefits for companies in the pact is access to support for implementing environmental measures. These measures often lead to enhanced resource efficiency, energy savings, and overall sustainability of business operations. While specific benefits per company may vary, participation typically results in improved compliance, innovation in green technologies, and potential cost savings through efficiency.

OmniCert Umweltgutachter GmbH, based in Bad Abbach, is one such example. With an electric vehicle fleet that accounts for almost 80% of their total vehicles, the company significantly reduces CO2 emissions. Wiesmayer Kunststofftechnik GmbH, located in Neustadt a. d. Donau, saves 57% energy by switching to LEDs in production halls.

Lotter-Objekt Möbelwerkstätten GmbH from Kelheim achieves targeted energy savings through power-saving programs and load management. Meanwhile, Lentner Hopfentechnik from Muhlhausen saves 60% energy through LED hopfen drying and lighting conversion.

The Bavarian Environment and Climate Pact encourages companies to implement practical measures for operational environmental protection that go beyond legal requirements. This voluntary and reliable cooperation between the state and economy aims to better protect natural living conditions. The pact focuses on the forward-looking avoidance of future environmental burdens, with companies reusing packaging materials, even for large machine parts, as an example of this commitment.

County Administrator Martin Neumeyer praised the efforts of local companies, stating that more are making significant strides towards environmental protection. The Bavarian State Ministry for Environment and Consumer Protection has also acknowledged these efforts, awarding four companies from the county for their environmental initiatives.

In conclusion, the Bavarian Environment and Climate Pact serves as a testament to the power of cooperation between government and industry in promoting sustainability and climate action. By working together, companies like Wiesmayer Kunststofftechnik GmbH, Lentner Hopfentechnik, Lotter-Objekt Möbelwerkstätten GmbH, and OmniCert Umweltgutachter GmbH are demonstrating that environmental stewardship and economic success can go hand in hand.

  2. The Bavarian Environment and Climate Pact is not only a platform for the government and industry collaboration but also a hub for the exchange of best practices and experiences in climate protection strategies.
  3. Finance and energy efficiency go hand in hand within the Bavarian Environment and Climate Pact, as companies often benefit from cost savings through resource efficiency and energy conservations upon implementing environmental measures.
  4. In line with the focus on future-oriented environmental protection, companies participating in the Bavarian Environment and Climate Pact, such as Lotter-Objekt Möbelwerkstätten GmbH, are adopting practices like reusing packaging materials even for large machine parts.
