Belarus Unveils First Electric Car for People with Disabilities
Belarus has launched its first electric car designed specifically for people with disabilities. The vehicle, produced by BelAZ, was unveiled at the 'Innoprom' exhibition in Minsk. Andrei Augustinovich, director of 'Lada OMS Techno', has announced plans to localize future production.
The base model of the electric car is priced at Br27,000. It is designed for independent use, allowing wheelchair users to access and operate it without assistance. The car offers a range of 220 km and comes equipped with basic features such as air conditioning and ABS for safety.
The electric car supports both fast and slow charging options, providing flexibility for users. Currently, the cars are being assembled using Chinese parts, but the manufacturer, BelAZ, plans to start producing self-sufficient parts in Belarus in the future.
The launch of this electric car in Belarus marks a significant step towards improving mobility for people with disabilities. With a range of 220 km and basic features, it offers independence and convenience. As production becomes more localized, the electric cars are set to become an affordable and practical option for many.
