Bodo Middeldorf Assumes Sole Leadership Position

Ralph Sterck, the current managing director of the Future Agency Rhine Region, is set to depart from his role and take up a new position as head of department in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization, and Energy of North Rhine-Westphalia starting November 1, 2021. His departure marks a significant change at the Future Agency, with Bodo Middeldorf set to take over sole management.

Sterck has left an indelible mark on the Future Agency, having built up the team from an initial six people to the current 50 "Future Agents." Under his leadership, the agency has been instrumental in driving social, culinary, artistic, and cultural developments in Neuss.

One of Sterck's most notable achievements was the establishment of the Economic and Structural Program in versions 1.0 and 1.1. These programs form the basis for current funding programs such as "Unternehmen Revier," "Sofortprogramm Plus," "Starterpaket Kernrevier," and "Revier gestalten."

In his absence, the Future Agency will continue its mission, with Middeldorf at the helm. Middeldorf brings extensive experience in regional development and economic promotion to the table. Prior to his role at the Future Agency, he led the Innovation Region Rhine Region and was the managing director of the Bergische Struktur- und Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft mbH from 2008 to 2017. Since 2017, he has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament and serves as his faction's spokesperson for structural policy and transport.
