Cirba Solutions & Batteries Plus Expand Battery Recycling Access
Cirba Solutions, a leading battery recycling company, has partnered with Batteries Plus, a nationwide service center, to expand access to battery recycling. This move comes during Fire Prevention Week (Oct 5 - 11, 2025), with the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) encouraging responsible battery disposal.
A recent survey revealed a concerning gap: nearly half of respondents knew lithium batteries shouldn't be thrown in regular trash but did so anyway due to limited recycling locations. To address this, Cirba Solutions is launching an interactive battery recycling map during Fire Prevention Week. The map pinpoints local businesses and organizations, including Batteries Plus, that accept batteries, including lithium-ion, for recycling.
Cirba Solutions, known for its WeRecycle Battery Boxes, offers prepaid recycling kits for collecting and shipping back dry cell batteries and handheld electronics. The company's Community Engagement Manager, Karen Gay, stresses the importance of educating communities and creating access to recycling locations.
Through its partnership with Batteries Plus and the launch of the interactive map, Cirba Solutions is significantly increasing access to battery recycling nationwide. This initiative aligns with the NFPA's call for responsible battery recycling during Fire Prevention Week, helping to keep communities safe and the environment clean.
