Collaboration Revealed: Carbon GPT Joins Forces with Malaysian Stock Exchange and Leading 100 Corporations

In a significant move towards enhancing sustainability and climate disclosures, Carbon GPT, a groundbreaking AI-Sustainability Reporting tool, is simplifying the complex task of ESG reporting for publicly listed companies (PLCs) on Bursa Malaysia. Co-founded by Dr. Matthew Wong and Dr. Ivan Ling, both University of Southampton alumni, Carbon GPT is revolutionising the way businesses approach sustainability reporting.

The innovative technology decodes and simplifies complex ESG reporting requirements, such as IFRS S2, which contains over 160 requirements. By making ESG reporting more transparent and precise, Carbon GPT effectively removes the "black box" nature of sustainability disclosures, helping companies comply accurately with stringent sustainability regulations.

Bursa Malaysia, the Malaysian Stock Exchange, has designated the CSIPlatform as the Exchange's reporting channel to strengthen sustainability disclosures among PLCs. In a collaborative effort, Bursa Malaysia is partnering with Alliance Bank to offer Carbon GPT's services for free to eligible PLCs, particularly small to mid-sized or newly listed companies.

Dr. Matthew Wong, CEO and Co-Founder of Carbon GPT, is an expert in ESG considerations, climate finance, and corporate sustainability reporting. His partner, Dr. Ivan Ling, a Lecturer at the University of Southampton School of Electronics and Computer Science, is an expert in machine learning, data analytics, and data storytelling.

Carbon GPT leverages advanced AI capabilities and data from Bursa Malaysia's Centralised Sustainability Intelligence Platform. The platform is now supporting a large number of companies of all sizes, including the top 100 companies listed on the Bursa Malaysia Exchange.

The partnership aims to enable companies of all sizes to focus more on implementing sustainable practices rather than just reporting on them. Carbon GPT uses AI to generate fast, auditable carbon emission reports at a fraction of the current cost.

Dr. Alice Iles, Head of Tech Acceleration at the website supporting Carbon GPT, has expressed her support for the startup. The University of Southampton's team is also available to support researchers and students at any stage of starting a startup.

In addition, clicking the provided link allows researchers or students at the University of Southampton to book an informal call or meeting with the Carbon GPT team. The collaboration aims to help PLCs listed on the exchange to adhere to comprehensive disclosure requirements, improve ESG rating alignment, and establish sound reporting practices.

Bursa Malaysia has integrated AI-powered services into the CSIPlatform to equip companies with tools for structured sustainability reporting. As a result, businesses can now tackle their sustainability reporting problems with ease, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
