Construction commences on a $208 million Paris Baguette manufacturing facility in Texas
Paris Baguette, a leading Korean bakery brand, took a significant step towards its ambition of becoming a global powerhouse in the bakery industry with the groundbreaking ceremony for its Texas plant. The event, attended by key figures including Burleson Mayor Chris Fletcher, Johnson County Judge Christopher Boedeker, and Do Kwang-heon, head of the Dallas office of the Korean Consulate General in Houston, took place at Highpoint Business Park in Burleson, Texas, on Tuesday.
The Texas plant, a key component of Paris Baguette's strategy for global transformation, will be overseen by US construction company JE Dunn. SPC Group, the operator of Paris Baguette, plans to complete the first phase of the 17,000-square-meter plant by 2027, with a total investment of $208 million.
The first phase will serve as a production and logistics hub for future expansion into Central America. By 2029, the plant will be expanded to 28,000 square meters. With this Texas plant, Paris Baguette aims to open 1,000 branches across North America by 2030, delivering fresh and high-quality products to more American consumers.
The US construction company responsible for the design and construction of the Paris Baguette production and logistics center in Texas is The Beck Group. SPC Chair Hur Young-in, Paris Baguette CEO Hur Jin-soo, and Darren Tipton, head of Paris Baguette's Americas division, also attended the event.
The Texas plant is expected to contribute to the local community's development. Paris Baguette emphasizes safety, quality, innovation, and sustainability in the development of the plant, reflecting its commitment to these values in its operations.
The groundbreaking ceremony was initiated after US President Donald Trump urged Korean business leaders, including Hur, to expand investment in the United States during his first presidency in 2019. This move is a testament to the positive business relationship between the two countries.
As Paris Baguette embarks on this exciting journey, it looks forward to bringing its unique bakery experience to more Americans and contributing to the growth and development of the Texas community.
