Croner Precision Moulds Closes After 335 Years, Blames Global Competition
Croner Precision Moulds, a renowned specialist in moulds and fixture construction serving diverse industries, has announced its orderly closure. The company, with roots tracing back to 1685, will cease operations in early 2025.
Croner Precision Moulds, established in 1988 by Siegfried Croner, was a successor to 'Croner Formenbau'. The company employed 33 people and boasted an extensive machine park, all set to be sold following the production stop. The decision to close was influenced by intense global competition, notably cheap imports from Asia and production locations in Portugal and the Czech Republic. Despite these challenges, Croner Precision Moulds remained loyal to metalworking, with all direct ancestors involved in the trade since 1685, when Paul Croner became a master of the smith's trade.
