The Crimean Bridge, a crucial link between mainland Russia and the Crimean Peninsula, has been experiencing heavy traffic congestion in August. According to the latest updates from the Telegram channel "Crimean Bridge: Live Updates", the situation is expected to persist until mid-September.

On August 20th, a queue of over 1500 vehicles was reported at the Kerch side of the bridge. The waiting time at the manual inspection point from Kerch is estimated to be around four hours. The traffic congestion from the peninsula side is not showing signs of decreasing.

Law enforcement officers have intensified traffic control before the Crimean Bridge from Taman, preventing attempts to drive on the shoulder or bypass traffic jams. As of 15:00 on August 20th, there were no queues at the manual inspection point from Taman.

Heavy traffic is also expected on August 25th and 26th, and the worst day for travel to the peninsula is forecast to be August 21st and August 31st. In contrast, the route from Taman is clear, and the waiting time in traffic is expected to be around four hours by the afternoon of August 20th.

Law enforcement officers are closely monitoring drivers' compliance with traffic rules to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. It is advisable for drivers planning to travel to or from the Crimean Peninsula to allow extra time for their journey and to follow traffic regulations to avoid delays.

In August 2022, drivers have been standing in queues before the Crimea port in Taman waiting to cross the Crimea Bridge. However, on August 18th and 23rd, there were no significant queues reported.

The Crimean Bridge, completed in 2018, is a 19-kilometre long bridge and tunnel complex that connects mainland Russia to the Crimean Peninsula. The bridge has significantly reduced travel time between the two regions, but the increased tourist and commuter traffic in the summer months has led to periodic traffic congestion.
