District cooling is halted Tuesday morning here.
In a press release, BS Energy announced that repair work on a leaking supply line affecting about 45 connections in the Mühlenpfordtstraße and surrounding area will take place from Tuesday, September 23, around 6 a.m. to Thursday, September 24 in the evening. The repair work is being carried out by BS Netz employees.
The repair work is part of the ongoing efforts to fix the leaking supply line and involves the removal, cleaning, resealing, and rewelding of the separating piece. This will allow for the sequential cleaning and resealing of the sealing surfaces, and in some cases, necessitates the complete removal of the separating piece with the flange connection.
The affected areas include Mühlenpfordtstraße, Am Wendenwehr, Fallersleber-Tor-Wall, Katharinenstraße, Pockelsstraße, Schleinitzstraße, Wendentorwall, Wilhelmstraße, and Wendenstraße. As a result, customers will not have access to district heating for space heating or hot water preparation during this period.
BS Energy is working diligently to renew the line to minimize inconvenience to customers. However, no alternative heating arrangements have been specified in the press release. The interruption is expected to last from around 6 am on Tuesday, 23 September, to Wednesday, 24 September, in the evening.
It is worth noting that BS Netz employees replaced an insulating separating piece on the affected section of the line in August. The repair work is being done to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the district heating supply in the affected areas.
