Dortmund Bridge Closure: Cyclists, Pedestrians Re-routed August 25 - September 5
Dortmund residents can access allotment gardens via Loitzer Landstraße on August 30, as a bollard on the extension of Scharnhorststraße will be temporarily removed. Cyclists can use the roadway during the bridge closure, which is set to last from August 25 to September 5, 2025.
The InfraGO team is responsible for the repairs, having taken over such projects in Dortmund. They will be working on the pedestrian and cycle bridge extension at the Scharnhorststraße intersection with Osnabrücker Straße. The bridge will be closed during this period for safety reasons, with pedestrians directed to use the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street. Despite the closure, the bridge can still be used as usual from the start of the new school year. However, on August 30, 2025, the entire junction will be closed all day, preventing entry or exit onto Osnabrücker Straße.
The bridge repairs are expected to be completed during the first week of September, ensuring its safety and usability for both pedestrians and cyclists. Residents are advised to plan their routes accordingly during the closure period.
