Düsseldorf: Two new bike routes inaugurated at Grafenberg

Drivers are required to reduce their speed and may not overtake cyclists. A minimum distance of 1.5 meters must be maintained when overtaking cyclists, and the maximum speed for all road users is 30 km/h. These measures are designed to ensure the safety of cyclists and pedestrians.
The bike lanes aim to strengthen cycling, make route guidance safer, and separate cycling and pedestrian traffic. A new pedestrian crossing will be established on Limburgstraße, and a new 2.50-meter wide two-way bike lane and a similarly wide sidewalk will be created at the underpass of Grafenberger Allee.
It's worth noting that children under 8 years may use the sidewalk if necessary. Böcklinstraße between Burgmüllerstraße and Gutenbergstraße will be designated as a dead-end street, and through traffic to Gutenbergstraße will not be possible.
After the bike lanes are established, motorized individual traffic will still be allowed as local traffic. Cyclists may ride side by side, and a new pedestrian crossing will be established on Limburgstraße.
