Eastward Journey to Neuss and Kaarst

In late 2022, a significant step was taken towards strengthening economic ties between Japan and Rhein-Kreis Neuss, a vibrant economic hub in Germany. The Japanese economic delegation, accompanied by economic promoter Johanna Mehring, visited various local businesses as part of an initiative to boost cooperation between the two regions.

The visits were a strategic move aimed at securing and increasing prosperity for both Japan and Rhein-Kreis Neiss. The joint event at Haneda Innovation City, a bustling trade and business complex near Japan's largest airport, brought together Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups from both regions.

The purpose of these visits was to foster networking between the Japanese delegation and local businesses in Rhein-Kreis Neuss. The delegation had the opportunity to engage with several key companies, including machining technology company Pre-Wa-Tec in Rommerskirchen, semiconductor robotics company AES motomation in Kaarst, and special camera manufacturer IKEGAMI in Neuss.

The close exchange between Ota City and Rhein-Kreis Neuss has been established, with Jetro Düsseldorf and Kreiswirtschaftsförderung serving as partners in this cooperation. The initiative for this exchange was taken by these organisations, with the joint event at Haneda Innovation City being one of the key initiatives to strengthen economic ties between the two cities.

Robert Abts, head of Kreiswirtschaftsförderung, expressed a commitment to strengthening cooperation with Ota City and working towards new settlements and cooperation projects between Japanese companies and local businesses. Economic Director Martin Stiller also voiced his belief that growing investment and trade relations between Japan and Rhein-Kreis Neuss hold potential to increase and secure prosperity for both countries, considering Japan an important partner for the region.

Both parties recognised the potential for cooperation due to similar economic and socio-economic structures. Johanna Mehring, the economic promoter, aims to utilise the potential of these networking opportunities to create additional value for the location and benefit the citizens.

However, as of now, there is no available data providing information about the current status or future plans of economic cooperation between Ota City and Rhein-Kreis Neuss, Germany. Therefore, a verified update on their economic collaboration cannot be provided at this time.

Despite this, the visits and events mark a promising start in the journey towards a stronger economic partnership between Japan and Rhein-Kreis Neuss. The potential benefits for both regions are significant, and it will be interesting to see how this partnership unfolds in the future.

Collaborating with various SMEs and start-ups during the joint event at Haneda Innovation City, the Japanese delegation expanded their network to other industries such as machining technology, semiconductor robotics, and special camera manufacturing in Rhein-Kreis Neuss. Recognizing the potential for increased prosperity and future ventures, both parties are keen to explore opportunities in finance and other businesses beyond their regions.
