Embracing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Strategies in Building and Infrastructure Projects

The construction industry is stepping towards a greener, smarter, safer, and sustainably driven future, and you can be a part of this transformation. On September 9, 2025, the CIDB Convention Centre in Kuching, Sarawak, will host an ESG-focused construction workshop designed to help professionals integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices into real project workflows.

This one-day training event is an excellent opportunity for construction and project managers, property developers, REIT professionals, urban planners, architects, local-authority officers, ESG and sustainability practitioners, consultants, and contractors to learn how to embed sustainability into daily project operations. No formal prerequisites are required, though a basic familiarity with construction processes is helpful.

The session is led by Bernadine Francis, Knowledge Management & Innovation Lead at Fuller Academy, an online sustainability knowledge platform hosting the event. Participants will receive comprehensive training materials, lunch, tea breaks, and a Certificate of Completion from Fuller Academy. The format also offers networking opportunities among industry professionals in a business casual environment.

Attendees can proactively identify environmental and social risks to avoid costly delays, penalties, and redesigns. They will also learn to create governance systems and transparent reporting that regulators, investors, and communities expect. Global ESG frameworks and select certifications will be navigated during the workshop.

The workshop is not just about compliance; it aims to transform risk into competitive advantage, enhance project value, and secure stakeholder trust, funding, and compliance. By attending, you can earn CIDB Continuing Construction Development (CCD) points, with a potential of 15 points upon completing the full session.
