Energy company Atlantic Energy successfully acquires customer base from Summer Energy.
Atlantic Energy Group LLC, a leading retail energy provider, has announced the acquisition of most of Summer Energy's commercial customers in Texas. This acquisition marks the third for Atlantic Energy in 2025 and aligns with their strategic initiatives for the 2024-2025 period, as stated by CEO Rob Cantrell.
The acquisition will see the customers transition seamlessly to Atlantic's "AE Texas" brand, ensuring uninterrupted service and dedicated support. Customers can rest assured that all their terms and conditions, including rates and plans, will remain unchanged during this transition.
Atlantic Energy Group serves customers in eleven states for electricity and seven states for natural gas, covering over 50 utilities. With this latest acquisition, the company aims to further establish itself as the preferred energy provider in Texas for both customers and broker partners.
Customers will begin transferring to AE Texas as early as August 11.
While there is no definitive list of the fastest-growing U.S. retail energy providers in 2025, companies like AEP, Vistra Corp, and NRG Energy show strong financial performance and growth indicators in the energy and utilities sectors. Retail energy providers tied to these or similar companies are likely among the faster growers in the sector this year.
This acquisition further solidifies Atlantic Energy's position as one of the fastest-growing retailers nationwide. The company's strong organic growth and strategic acquisitions have propelled it to the forefront of the retail energy market.
