In the heart of Duisburg's Hochfeld neighbourhood, several significant construction and repair projects are underway, set to impact traffic flow and transportation routes until the end of October 2025.

The primary focus of the work is on Wanheimer Straße, where the public utilities are carrying out asphalt repairs. The repairs, scheduled to begin on October 1, 2021, will be executed by the Straßen.NRW road construction company. Pedestrians and cyclists can continue to pass through the area unhindered during this period.

However, vehicles will be affected by a detour route. The detour will guide vehicles via Wörthstraße (unaffected section), Heerstraße, Karl-Jarres-Straße, and Rheinhauser Straße onto Rudolf-Schock-Straße. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to turn from Wanheimer Straße onto Wörthstraße towards the Bridge of Solidarity or Wanheimerort coming from Pauluskirche. In the opposite direction, from Wanheimerort or the Bridge of Solidarity, it will still be possible to turn onto Wanheimer Straße and head towards Pauluskirche.

Another significant construction site is Bonifatiusplatz, where work is also scheduled to last until the end of October 2025. This work will affect the Bridge of Solidarity, which will remain under construction until the same date.

Pauluskirche, located near the affected area of Wanheimer Straße, will remain in its current location until the end of October 2025. Despite the construction and repair work, it will still be possible to turn onto Wanheimer Straße and head towards Pauluskirche until the end of October 2025.

Both the construction work on Bonifatiusplatz and the repairs on Wanheimer Straße are due to end by the end of October 2025, bringing an end to the detours and traffic disruptions in the area. It is advised for motorists to plan their routes accordingly and to expect delays during the construction period.
