Modern passenger vessel Victor Astafiev, being built for Krasnoyarsk Territory in Saint Petersburg together with another ship, Andrei Dubensky, appears to not arrive on the Yenisey in 2025 as previously expected. The new launch dates for the ships have yet to be disclosed. However, it has been confirmed by sources that the delivery of Astafiev is scheduled to take place, as planned, during this season.

Enisei will not receive a new cruiser ship this year (alternative phrasing: The city of Enisei is not going to get a new passenger vessel this year)

Modern passenger ship "Victor Astafiev", being built in Saint Petersburg for the Krasnoyarsk region alongside another vessel, "Andrei Dubensky", seems unlikely to arrive on the Yenisei River in 2025 as previously anticipated. New launch dates for these ships have yet to be announced. However, it appears that the "Astafiev" will be delivered as planned during this season.

During a press conference dedicated to the opening of river navigation in Siberia, it was revealed that the Krasnoyarsk region will not be receiving a new ship this year, due to issues with the shipbuilder, including the transportation of the ship. One of the vessels is expected to arrive in 2026, and it is hoped that it will be delivered to the region. Unfortunately, in 2025, cruise passengers in the Yenisei River Basin will not be able to use the services of the new ship.

To remind, modern ships are being built on the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard in Saint Petersburg specifically for the Yenisei. They will be traveling the route from Kransoyarsk to Duindika to Kransoyarsk and will replace the ships "A. Matrosov" and "V. Chkalov", built over 70 years ago.

The mixed-traffic (river-sea) vessels project A45-90.2 "Victor Astafiev" and "Andrei Dubensky" were laid down at the SNSZ in 2020 and 2021 respectively and initially aimed to start operations on the Great Siberian River as early as 2023. However, significant external economic and political events intervened.

Construction continued nonetheless, and "Astafiev" was ceremoniously launched onto the water in July 2024. They stated then that the first new ship would arrive in the Yenisei from Saint Petersburg via the Northern Sea Route in 2025, and the second ship a year later. Accordingly, it was planned to deploy the first new ship in 2026.

Plans have once again been adjusted - however, only partially, according to DELA in "Center for Transport Logistics."

"Delivery of passengers on the new ship was not planned for this year, only its transportation. Even if transport is not carried out,

the ship built at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard will be delivered in 2025 in accordance with the terms of the contract", stated our publication in "CTL."

They explained that work is proceeding according to schedule despite various challenges.

"This is a lead ship, a completely new object, the first of a series of large civilian ships. These ships have complex internal structures and require more time for construction. One of the difficulties has been the need for redesign, which was carried out during construction. The ship of this class 'river-sea' is being built for the Arctic region for the first time," stated the contractor from the Krasnoyarsk region.

New ships will significantly improve the quality of passenger transport on the Yenisei - and Krasnoyarsk residents and residents of the region will undoubtedly be able to test the new ships in the near future.
