Auerswald, a specialist for communication solutions, has entered a restructuring phase under insolvency proceedings as of late July 2025 [1]. The restructuring aims to stabilise the company financially while allowing it to continue operations during the insolvency process.

The Regional Court of Brunswick approved the restructuring procedure for both Auerswald GmbH & Co. KG and Auerswald Gesellschaft für Datensysteme mbH on Tuesday, 29 July [1]. The PLUTA team is supporting the insolvency process, with Christian Auerswald, the Managing Director, remaining in office during the restructuring.

At present, the exact impact on jobs and specific restructuring measures remains uncertain. However, given the early stage of restructuring and PLUTA’s involvement, which specializes in preserving businesses and jobs during insolvency solutions, there is a reasonable expectation that the company is pursuing measures to enable sustainable long-term employment.

In the meantime, business operations will continue at Auerswald. The employees have been informed about the situation, and their salaries are secured by insolvency benefits for the next three months. Initially, customers and business partners can continue to rely on Auerswald for tailored solutions.

The news of Auerswald's insolvency is likely distressing for its 110 employees, as well as for the Wolfenbüttel District, where the company is based. The current crisis, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukraine war, and the weak economy, has led to many customers holding back on investments, significantly worsening Auerswald's financial situation.

Despite the challenges, Managing Director Christian Auerswald expresses optimism. The company is continuing to operate while implementing restructuring measures. The insolvency administrators, Christian Hausherr and Laars Schoppe, are overseeing the proceedings in the interest of the creditors.

The restructuring process was initiated under self-administration to preserve the Auerswald group. The situation is a challenge for the district, but the hope remains that the restructuring will secure the future of the company and potentially safeguard jobs for its employees.
