Europe-wide Customs Operation Nets 10 Criminal Cases in Magdeburg
Customs authorities across Europe, including those in Magdeburg, recently conducted joint control days from 22 to 28 September 2025. The operation, targeting various industries, led to significant findings and arrests.
The control days focused on the hotel and catering industry, agricultural businesses, construction industry, and nail studios. Customs officers inspected 17 objects and questioned 89 employees across several regions. The Main Customs Office Magdeburg played a key role in these Europe-wide efforts, which aimed to combat human trafficking and exploitation.
The operation resulted in 10 criminal proceedings and 10 administrative offence proceedings. These were initiated due to violations of alien law regulations, primarily residence without a residence permit. Although the names and organizations of the arrested individuals and companies are not publicly available, their actions were deemed serious enough to warrant legal action.
The joint control days, involving 69 customs officers, highlight the commitment to combating human trafficking and exploitation across Europe. The operation in Magdeburg and surrounding areas led to significant findings and legal proceedings, demonstrating the importance of such coordinated efforts.
