Event Rescheduling: Prolight + Sound to Take Place in 2022
In a challenging year for the event industry, the organisers of Prolight + Sound, one of the world's leading trade shows for event technology, entertainment, and media, have announced that the 2021 event will not take place in Frankfurt due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Mira Woelfel, the Director of Prolight + Sound, and her team express their disappointment but remain optimistic for the future. They are looking forward with hope, determined to mark a new start for the event industry.
The team had planned to bring the industry together in April 2021, with the event intended for exhibitors, visitors, and interested parties alike. The event was meant to reinvigorate the industry, find ways out of the crisis, and inspire each other to restart the event business. However, the de facto ban on events in Germany and serious travel restrictions have made holding the physical event unfeasible.
In response to these challenges, Messe Frankfurt has introduced a digital platform called "Prolight + Sound NOW!". This platform offers a year-round digital exchange and content formats, providing a virtual space for exhibitors, manufacturers, and users to connect and engage.
The digital platform includes a digital exhibition with virtual booths and product demonstrations, live and on-demand content streams such as webinars, panel discussions, and expert talks, networking tools for professional exchange beyond the traditional trade fair days, and continued updates and content releases throughout the year.
