Ex-Disco Owner Fined €6,000 for €8,546 in Unpaid Social Security Contributions

A former disco owner in Regensburg has been fined €6,000 for failing to pay social security contributions for his employees. The employees, who had been working since November 2022, were only registered for social security in January 2023.

The investigation, led by the Financial Control Black Work (FKS) of the Regensburg Customs Office, revealed that the disco owner had not paid €8,546 in social security contributions. Gerhard Pylipp, head of the FKS, warned that such black work will not go unnoticed and carries serious consequences.

The convicted former owner must now pay both the outstanding social security contributions and the €6,000 fine. Despite searches, the name of the former club owner has not been made public.

This case serves as a reminder that employers must ensure their employees are correctly registered for social security and that contributions are paid in full and on time. Failure to do so can result in significant fines and reputational damage.
