Executive Lead for Talent Development and Organizational Culture

The Wikimedia Foundation, a remote-first organisation with staff members based in over 40 countries, is on the hunt for a seasoned Senior Manager to join its People Growth & Belonging (PG&B) team. This role is pivotal in integrating Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Learning & Development (L&D) principles, creating a welcoming and supportive workplace environment that aligns with the foundation's mission.

As the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for defining and executing the PG&B strategy, ensuring it is aligned with the Foundation's mission and organisational priorities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading, mentoring, and developing part of the PG&B team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  2. Overseeing the Engagement & Inclusion Survey to ensure data-driven people strategies.
  3. Driving evidence-based DEI initiatives such as constructive dialogue spaces, racial equity commitments, and global inclusion efforts.
  4. Supporting Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to align with organisational goals.

In essence, your role will be to provide Wikimedia staff with the tools, opportunities, and learning materials necessary to cultivate an environment where every employee can thrive, embodying the foundation's vision of a diverse and inclusive community.

The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of experience in DEI, L&D, organisational development, or talent strategy. You should be adept at coaching and managing multicultural teams, with expertise in learning program design, instructional methodologies, and leadership development. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly in mission-driven, global organisations, are essential.

Communication skills are key, with fluency in English and the ability to craft compelling narratives and build consensus. You should also have the ability and willingness to travel as needed.
