Expanding Ad Agency Rethink Establishes Presence in New York City, Marking Its initial Out-of-Canada Location

Rethink, an independent agency that has been producing high-profile, often award-winning work, is making a move south of the border. The agency has established its first New York location, marking a significant expansion in its growth.

Following this expansion, Rethink's key clients include Kraft Heinz, Molson Coors, KitKat, and Ikea. These clients have been associated with Rethink’s award-winning design and advertising work, which the agency is now further elevating through its formalized design practice led by Larissa Marquez.

Rethink is positioning design as a core discipline alongside advertising, aiming to serve clients with integrated brand strategy, visual identity, packaging, and design systems, mainly across North America. By the end of 2022, the agency expects to have approximately 20 people in its new Chelsea office.

A small group of New York-based staffers from Canada will work remotely and use the new office space as needed. This move is a strategic step for Rethink, as it aims to strengthen its relationships with these clients and grow its presence in New York.

The agency’s reputation, bolstered by its 2024 Cannes Lions awards for Independent Agency and Network of the Year, helps maintain strong relationships with these clients. In fact, Rethink's clients also include Heinz, Kraft Mac and Cheese, and Scotiabank.

This year, Rethink added 100 staffers to its Canadian offices, and the agency's revenues rose by 45%. The expansion into New York is a testament to Rethink's strong growth in recent years, as it continues to deliver exceptional work and forge strong partnerships with its clients.
