  • Get ready to pamper those locks, folks! Function of Beauty, the custom hair care brand, has teamed up with Amazon for a wholesale partnership, as announced via an email release. That's right, you can now get your hands on their Target line, along with curly, wavy, and straight hair bundles and kits, all shipped right to your doorstep.
  • Alongside Amazon, Function of Beauty has also made their Target and Pro line available on their separate website. Their aim? Offering you a one-stop shopping experience that'll level up your hair game.

Fun Behind the Brand

Founded in 2015 by MIT engineers, Hien Nguyen Kaplan, Joshua Maciejewski, and Zahir Dossa, Function of Beauty, wasn't just another pretty face in the cosmetics industry. With an industry-leading chemist on board, this trio aimed to provide personalized hair care products tailored to each customer's needs.

With over 54 trillion possible combinations, Function of Beauty's proprietary algorithm spits out a unique formula every 13 seconds for the perfect hair regime. Sounds incredible, right? Well, their products are also sulfate-free and paraben-free, keeping things clean and healthy.

The Evolution of Function of Beauty

Since 2015, Function of Beauty has been on a roll. After launching hair styling products exclusively at Target in January 2023, they expanded their product line to include the Pro line at Sephora, introducing shampoos, conditioners, and nine Hair Goal Concentrate formulas in 300 U.S. stores and online.

Executive changes have also been part of the ride for Function of Beauty, with Zahir Dossa stepping down as CEO in 2021 and being replaced by Alexandra Papazian, a long-time executive with L'Oréal. In 2022, Marianna Trofimova, another former L'Oréal executive, joined as the Chief Marketing Officer.

Function of Beauty has been a magnet for financial investment, raising over $247 million in six rounds since its inception in 2015. Now, with Amazon and Sephora on their team, Function of Beauty is ready to disrupt the beauty industry, one personalized hair care product at a time. Stay tuned!
