Get Ready for Lübeck's Bank Holiday Bash Commemorating the Fehmarnbelt Connection!

Hey there, folks! got some exciting news for you! Lübeck and Schleswig-Holstein are inviting you to a groovy shindig along the Trave River on June 14th and 15th, celebrating the blossoming relationships with our southern Danish pals through the Ostseetunnel! Over 600 artists, entrepreneurs, politicians, and cultural enthusiasts will give you a taste of what the Fehmarnbelt region has in store, according to the organizers.

The Fehmarnbelt Bash will kick off on the 14th (12:00 PM) on a swanky floating stage near the Musik- und Kongresshalle. Expect a mixed bag of programs featuring engaging debates and rocking concerts. A whopping 40 German and Danish initiatives and firms will strut their stuff.

On the 15th and 16th, the experts will gather for a conference. Topics on tap include infrastructure, sustainable development, and innovation promotion, as announced by the city of Lübeck.

Since 2012, the Fehmarnbelt Bash has popped up every other year in the region to solidify ties between Northern Germany, Denmark, and southern Sweden. From 2029, an 18-kilometer-long road and railway tunnel connecting the German Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn to the Danish island of Lolland will unite the regions.

Now, a heads up: the 2023 Fehmarnbelt Bash details may be a bit thin on the ground right now. You might want to check out local news archives or reach out to the organizers for info on previous events. But don't fret! The Fehmarnbelt Bash is just a part of a broader plan to beef up economic cooperation and connections in the Fehmarnbelt region, which is home to sizable infrastructure projects like the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel.
