In a significant development, the historic train in Wuppertal, Germany, extended its route to include Dahlerau, Vogelsmühle, and Dahlhausen. This news was shared by board member Bernd Schacher during the event.

The maiden voyage of the extended route began from the website's main station, marking the culmination of years of preparations. The train stopped at key stations along the way, including Oberbarmen, Beyenburg, and Wuppertal's easternmost district.

Ulrich Grotstollen, the chairman of the "Wupperschiene" association, gave the opening speech at the historic train event held in the eastern district of Wuppertal in June 2023. A small ceremony was held to inaugurate the event, with Grotstollen delivering a speech.

Photographs were taken during the event, capturing the excitement and anticipation of the passengers, who numbered approximately 250. Upon arrival in Wuppertal, the historic train was greeted by hundreds of people.

While the operation of this extended section is not yet approved, as some remaining work needs to be completed, the extended route will end at the Wuppertal dam of the Radevormwald-Wilhelmstal reservoir.

It's worth noting that necessary permits were obtained to operate on the museum and tourist route. For more information, visitors are encouraged to visit the website www.wuppertalbahn.eu, although it was not stated as a fact in this news report.

The "Express" shuttle operated hourly between Oberbarmen and Beyenburg throughout the entire weekend, providing passengers with a taste of the extended route. This historic train event was a testament to the dedication and hard work of the board members and volunteers who made it possible.
