Fürth District's 2025 City Cycling Event Sets New Records

The Fürth district's 2025 city cycling event was a resounding success, with a significant increase in participants and teams compared to the previous year. The event saw 2,372 cyclists from 123 teams across 13 municipalities cover a total of 411,449 kilometers.

Leading the pack was Hans Stockert from Obermichelbach, who cycled an impressive 2,211 kilometers. The 'Obermichelbach Express' team also shone, logging the highest kilometers per head at 1,747 kilometers per person.

The municipality of Oberasbach was the most active overall, cycling a total of 67,917 kilometers. Meanwhile, the Gymnasium Stein took the top spot in the school cycling event with 194 students cycling 27,756 kilometers.

The Velogruppe Großhabersdorf team emerged as the top cycling team overall, covering 30,618 kilometers. District administrator Bernd Obst praised the event, emphasizing the importance of sustainable mobility and climate protection for the community.

The district's website offers more details about the city cycling and school cycling 2025 events. This year's event marked a nearly 50% increase in active participants and a nearly 12% increase in the number of teams, demonstrating the growing popularity and significance of cycling in the district.
