Geodis Appoints Retired General to Lead Aerospace & Defense Logistics Push
Geodis, a global leader in logistics, has appointed retired Brigadier General Arnaud Weixler to oversee its activities in the aerospace and defense engineering sectors. Weixler, who brings a wealth of experience from his military career, will drive Geodis' ambition to become a central player in these strategic engineering markets.
Weixler's appointment comes as Geodis seeks to establish a long-term presence in aerospace and defense engineering. He began working with Geodis in these sectors in 2021, bringing his expertise in logistics operations from his military career. He has planned and led numerous logistics operations both domestically and internationally, and held leading positions within NATO and the French army.
Geodis offers a range of services tailored to these sectors, including Aircraft-on-Ground logistics, oversized cargo transport, high-quality storage, and secure supply chain management. The company aims to become the preferred partner for industrial and institutional players in these sectors. Its collaboration with the Franco-German arms manufacturer KNDS is cited as a reference project. In 2023, a new automated logistics facility was inaugurated for KNDS in Montbeugny, central France, demonstrating Geodis' commitment to the sector.
With Weixler at the helm, Geodis is expanding its commitment in the aerospace and defense engineering sectors. His appointment signals the company's serious intent to become a key player in these markets, leveraging his extensive experience and Geodis' comprehensive suite of logistics services.
