German Federal Police Directorate in Munich announces operation coinciding with Munich Security Conference
The Federal Police will be increasing its presence at key railway stations and S-Bahn lines during the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC) scheduled from February 14 to 16, 2025.
The main focus of the deployment will be on the main, east, and Pasing stations, as well as the S-Bahn stations Karlsplatz (Stachus) and Marienplatz, and the S-Bahn trunk line. The Federal Police Inspectorate Munich's precinct is located in Munich Central Station, immediately next to track 26. Service rooms can also be found in Pasing and Freising.
During peak times of the conference, approximately 250 officers from the Federal Police will be deployed. Their primary goal is to protect the railway and its users from dangers and intervene decisively when necessary, especially in cases of criminal offenses and disturbances of public order. This includes the use of service dog handlers and super-recognizers during the peak time on Saturday.
The Federal Police Inspectorate Munich is also responsible for police danger prevention and criminal prosecution in the area of Deutsche Bahn facilities and the largest German S-Bahn network. Their non-operational areas with the investigative service are located in Denisstraße 1, about 700 meters on foot from the central station.
The Federal Police Inspectorate Munich's jurisdiction includes three of the four largest Bavarian stations, with personnel support provided by the Federal Police departments in Deggendorf and Bayreuth, as well as several Bavarian inspections.
