Global law firm showcases 54 partners across the globe in their 2022 Partner Class selection
In a move to strengthen its global presence and expertise, a leading law firm has announced the promotion of 54 lawyers to partner and director positions, effective January 1, 2022. The promotions span 11 practice areas, with a significant focus on litigation and disputes, corporate, M&A and securities, and banking and finance.
The promotions were made across various locations, including London (United Kingdom), Calgary (Canada), Dallas (United States), Munich, New York, Ottawa (Canada), Sydney (Australia), Perth (Australia), Toronto (Canada), Washington D.C. (United States), Vancouver (Canada), Hong Kong, Johannesburg (South Africa), and Montreal (Canada).
Notable promotions include Helen Fairhead, who was promoted to antitrust and competition in London, and Jennifer McPherson, who was promoted to corporate, M&A and securities in Calgary. In the same practice area, Robin Acworth and Blake Redwine were promoted in Calgary and Dallas, respectively.
In the litigation and disputes sector, Zayba Drabu and James Lockwood were promoted in London, Geraldine Young in Houston, Scott Boucher in Vancouver, Victoria Corder in New York, and Alison FitzGerald in Ottawa. Notable promotions in banking and finance include Nick Sinclair in Perth, Tim Stewart in Toronto, Alex Zekkos in London, and Matthew Choi in Vancouver.
The firm's goal is to have 40 percent women in overall partnership, leadership roles, lawyer promotions, lateral additions, and senior business services hires. In line with this goal, 23 of the 54 promoted lawyers are women, making up 43 percent of the total.
