Global Law Firm Announces Promotions of 47 Lawyers Globally
A leading global law firm has announced the promotion of 47 lawyers to partner and director positions, effective January 1, 2021, in various locations worldwide. The promotions span 11 global practice groups, with a significant number of female lawyers being promoted, representing 53 percent of the total promotions.
In the realm of litigation and disputes, several lawyers have been recognised for their exceptional work. William Nicholson was promoted to projects in New York, United States, while Katie Chung took on a new role in litigation and disputes in Singapore. In South Africa, Sa'ood Lahri was promoted to litigation and disputes in Johannesburg, and Carol Holness was promoted to litigation and disputes in Durban. Elsewhere, Michael Manhas was promoted to litigation and disputes in Vancouver, Canada, and Bryce Perrett in Durban, South Africa. In Hong Kong, Kevin Hong was also promoted to litigation and disputes.
The corporate, M&A and securities practice group saw several promotions as well. Agnieszka Braciszewska was promoted to this practice group in Warsaw, Poland, while Reneé Loiselle and Rowan Weaver were promoted in Montreal and Toronto, Canada, respectively. In the United States, Katie Van Dyk was promoted to real estate in Austin, and Jay Edward Slovacek Greathouse was promoted to healthcare transactions in San Antonio. In Sydney, Australia, Maija Kerry and Ugendran Odayar were promoted to corporate, M&A and securities, and in Hong Kong, Nicholas Wilson was promoted to the same practice group.
The banking and finance practice group also saw several promotions. Mary Kimura was promoted to banking and finance/public finance in San Francisco, United States, while Angela Croker was promoted to banking and finance in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In London, England, Andrew Williams and Andrew Reeves were promoted to banking and finance, and Will Alete was promoted to banking and finance in the same city. Adrienne Sebring was promoted to banking and finance/corporate finance in New York, United States, and Joris Ravelli was promoted to banking and finance in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
In addition, Alexandre Roth was promoted to banking and finance in Paris, France, and Kirstin Russell was promoted to banking and finance in London, England. Will Alete was also promoted to banking and finance in London, England.
The firm's employment and labor practice group also saw several promotions. Jennifer Hodgins was promoted to employment and labor in Toronto, Canada, and Heather Cameron was promoted to the same practice group in Ottawa, Canada. In Sydney, Australia, Alexandra Shields was promoted to employment and labor, and Nicki Milionis was promoted to employment and labor in Melbourne, Australia. Laila Paszti was promoted to corporate, M&A and securities/data protection, privacy and cybersecurity in Toronto, Canada.
The real estate practice group saw promotions in Austin, Vancouver, and Sydney. Katie Van Dyk was promoted to real estate in Austin, United States, while Liza Volpiana was promoted to real estate in Vancouver, Canada. In Sydney, Australia, Steven Choi was promoted to real estate/construction and engineering.
The risk advisory practice group also saw several promotions. Sarah Lucey was promoted to risk advisory/compliance in London, England, and Rajaee Rouhani was promoted to risk advisory in Melbourne, Australia.
The bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency practice group saw promotions in Houston, Calgary, and Dubai. Bob Bruner was promoted to bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency in Houston, United States, while Aaron Stephenson was promoted to bankruptcy, financial restructuring & insolvency/litigation and disputes in Calgary, Canada. In Dubai, Angela Croker was promoted to banking and finance, which also covers bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency.
The tax practice group saw promotions in New York and London. Nancy Montmarquet was promoted to tax in New York, United States, and Julia Lloyd and Julia were promoted to tax in London, England.
Finally, Zayed Al Jamil was promoted to intellectual property in London, England.
