Go Voyager CEO Calls for EU Rental Standards as Safety Study Reveals Stark Contrasts
Go Voyager CEO Daniil Shvartsman has proposed standardizing EU rental regulations and implementing real-time safety monitoring systems. This comes amidst a study revealing stark contrasts in road safety and quality across the EU.
France tops the road quality index with a score of 6.18, thanks to its excellent infrastructure. This, coupled with efficient traffic management, has earned it the title of the best country for car rentals. In stark contrast, Romania lags behind with a low score of 2.96, indicating poor road conditions.
Romania's roads are plagued by intense traffic and poor maintenance, leading to a mean speed score of just 73 for rent a car. This, combined with lax traffic regulation enforcement, results in a high fatality rate of 81.1 per 1 million inhabitants. Approximately 2,900 road accidents occur per 1 million inhabitants due to these factors. As a result, Romania is ranked as the most dangerous country in the EU for car rentals. Meanwhile, Portugal boasts the highest mean speed score of 106, reflecting superior road efficiency and connectivity.
The study by Go Voyager highlights the urgent need for improvement in Romania's road infrastructure and traffic management. Standardizing rental regulations and implementing real-time safety monitoring systems, as suggested by CEO Daniil Shvartsman, could significantly enhance safety and efficiency across the EU.
