Hamm Boosts Bus Frequency: 10-Minute Intervals from Aug 24

Starting August 24, 2023, the city of Hamm is introducing a 10-minute interval schedule on key bus lines during peak travel times. This change is part of the Nahverkehrsplan 2025, supporting the Mobility Master Plan 2024. The goal is to make public transport a more attractive alternative to cars, aiming to almost double its share in total traffic by 2035.

Lines 1/3, running east-west, and 10/11, forming a ring via the main station to Bockum-Hövel, will see increased timetable offers during weekday peak hours. This initiative is expected to accommodate around 70,000 passengers daily by 2035. The 10-minute interval is initially limited until the end of 2026, with further design decisions based on passenger counts and surveys.

The city hopes to reduce CO2 emissions in traffic by around 40% (20,000 tons annually) by 2035 through increased public transport use. However, the organization responsible for introducing this schedule is not specified in available search results.
