Ho Chi Minh City Opens 23 More Housing Projects to Foreign Buyers
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has expanded the list of housing projects where foreign organizations and individuals can buy real estate. This is the third announcement in 2025, adding 23 projects to the existing 65, totaling 88 eligible developments.
Notable real estate projects now open to foreign buyers include the Van Phuc Residential Areas 1, 2, and 3, developed by Van Phuc Real Estate Investment JSC, covering a vast 807,698 square meters in Hiep Binh Phuoc ward. Additionally, the Masteri Thao Dien project, developed by Masterise Group JSC, is now accessible to foreign investors. Other significant real estate projects include CC1 and CC5 High-Rise Apartments, Island Complex Residential Area - Phase 1, City Garden Apartments, and the Tan Thang Sports and Residential Complex.
Foreign entities can own real estate in Vietnam if they meet legal requirements and fall under designated eligible categories. They must hold either an investment certificate or other legal documents issued by Vietnamese authorities. Previously, Phu My Hung Development Corp. had 39 projects approved, mainly in Zone A of the Southern New Urban Area. Foreign entities and individuals can purchase up to 30% of apartments in a single building or 250 standalone houses in a ward-level administrative area.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee continues to open up the real estate market to foreign investors, with 88 projects now eligible for purchase. This expansion allows foreign organizations and individuals to own real estate in Vietnam, subject to legal requirements and restrictions on ownership percentages.
