Hollywood Hills property, a midcentury villa once owned by director David Lynch, is listed for sale at a price tag of $15 million.
David Lynch's Brutalist-Style Estate Up for Sale
The estate of renowned filmmaker David Lynch, who passed away in 2025, is currently being offered for sale. Located in the Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, the property consists of five contiguous lots and is listed by Marc Silver of The Agency Beverly Hills.
The estate, a unique blend of brutalist and mid-century modern architecture, features three main homes and several outbuildings. The primary residence, a brutalist-style home, was purchased by Lynch in 1989, two homes down from the Lloyd Wright residence.
The estate boasts over 10,000 square feet of living space, with a total of ten bedrooms and eleven bathrooms. The kitchen in the estate features lime-green countertops and round wooden knobs on the cabinets. The walls in the Lloyd Wright home, Lynch's primary residence, are covered in a velvety, gray plaster.
Wood-paneled workshops in the estate were used by Lynch for creating furniture and other artworks. Some of his artworks, along with many of his other belongings, were auctioned off earlier this year.
In 1991, Eric Lloyd Wright, son of the architect, designed a swimming pool and pool house for the backyard, featuring the same recurring chevron motif in concrete. The swimming pool and the adjacent building were used by Lynch and have been a significant part of his life. Lynch has stated that the Lloyd Wright home has influenced his whole life and often inspired his artistic work.
Lynch's first purchase on the property was the Beverly Johnson Home, a roughly 1,850 square foot building designed by Lloyd Wright in 1963. In 1995, Lynch bought the home in between the two for use as a studio, housing a library, screening room, and professional editing suite.
David Lynch preferred Lloyd Wright's designs over those of his father, Frank Lloyd Wright, due to their minimalist and clear nature. The first appearance of the property listing was in AD USA. Unfortunately, the property listing does not mention the purchase dates or prices of the homes, the number of lots, main homes, outbuildings, bedrooms, bathrooms, or the total square footage of living space.
The estate is being offered for sale for $15 million. Interested parties can contact Marc Silver of The Agency Beverly Hills for more information.
