The upcoming biographical drama Swiped, set to premiere on September 19, 2025, offers an engaging portrayal of Whitney Wolfe Herd, the visionary behind Bumble and a pioneer in the online dating industry.
The film, streaming on Hulu and Disney Plus, follows Whitney Wolfe's journey from a recent college graduate to a tech mogul, reshaping the dating landscape and becoming one of the youngest female self-made billionaires.
Whitney's story begins at Southern Methodist University, where she joins the startup that would later become Tinder. After navigating professional challenges, she leaves Tinder and moves to Austin, Texas, to create Bumble—an app that empowers women to make the first move and combat online harassment.
The movie, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2025, is produced by Jennifer Gibgot, Andrew Panay, and Lily James herself, with cinematography by Doug Emmett and editing by Julia Wong. The music score is composed by Chanda Dancy.
