IFPI Welcomes Victoria Oakley as New CEO to Secure Music's Future
IFPI, the global organisation for the recorded music industry, has appointed Victoria Oakley as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Oakley, currently CEO of global consultancy Portland, will take over from Frances Moore who retired in December 2023. She aims to create the best possible environment for music worldwide and secure its future.
Oakley brings a wealth of experience to IFPI. She previously served in the British Diplomatic Service, working in various roles around the globe. Before joining Portland, she was the Head of Legal at PPL. In her new role, Oakley will lead IFPI's global operations and coordinate with its national group network, starting in June 2024.
Her appointment has been welcomed by industry leaders. Robert Kyncl, CEO of Warner Music Group, expressed excitement about Oakley joining IFPI. Rob Stringer, Chairman of Sony Music Group, and Sir Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, also welcomed the news.
