Increase from the previous year.
In the picturesque city-resort of Anapa, situated on the Taman Peninsula in Russia, agriculture plays a significant role in the region's economy and the nation's food security.
Anapa, known for its vibrant viticulture, is home to large-scale vineyard estates, with some exceeding 12,000 hectares. These vineyards form part of Russia's growing domestic agricultural production, focusing on crops such as grapes for wine. This agricultural base indirectly supports the country's grain and food production by bolstering regional agricultural infrastructure and expertise.
While Anapa is primarily associated with viticulture, its agricultural sector forms part of a broader food production network in the Krasnodar region, an important agricultural area in southern Russia. The city's contribution to the national food security is evident, although its primary direct contribution is likely more on specialty crops like grapes rather than staple grain crops.
Recent developments in Anapa's agricultural sector have been noteworthy. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Acting Mayor Svetlana Balayeva, during which the completion of the grain harvesting campaign was discussed. Four agricultural enterprises and 33 KFH in Anapa have been actively engaged in grain production this year.
The "Anapa" State Farm showed the best results among the enterprises, with a harvest of 63.8 centners per hectare. P.A. Zakaryan's farm had the best results among farmers, with a harvest of 68.8 centners per hectare. This year, farmers in Anapa harvested 42.8 thousand tons of winter wheat, which is more than the previous year.
As the harvesting season comes to a close, farmers in Anapa are now preparing for the next year's sowing campaign. Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor, has emphasized that Kuban, which includes Anapa, is a guarantee of Russia's food security. Igor Polyakov, the head of the municipal agricultural complex, mentioned that only domestic seed varieties were used in Anapa.
Anapa, despite being a resort city, makes a significant annual contribution to the regional harvest and, by extension, to Russia's food security. The city is the second in the Temryuk district in terms of grain yield, showcasing its importance in the national agricultural landscape. The agricultural sector in and around Anapa continues to thrive, supporting Russia’s overall food production objectives.
