Justin Bieber may be considering an investment in Hailey's cosmetic brand.
Facing a Potential Split, Justin Bieber Might Claim a Piece of Hailey's Billion-Dollar Beauty Empire
Looks like Justin Bieber might just be singing for more than his supper if the rumors of a split with wife Hailey Bieber are true. Their lack of a prenup could make things messy, particularly when it comes to the billion-dollar payday Hailey's beauty brand, Rhode, recently scored.
Bieber fans know that the power couple tied the knot in 2018. Since then, whispers of marital woes have dogged them. But Hailey swiftly squashed the gossip by putting down the rumor-mongers as "jealous bitches."
Hailey's beauty brand's big break came last week: it was sold to e.l.f. Beauty in a deal worth up to $1 billion. Unfortunately for Hailey, she won't rake in the full amount. e.l.f. is doling out $800 million in cold, hard cash and stock, while the remaining $200 million hinges on Rhode's performance over the next three years.
So why might Justin be rejoicing? According to a top Hollywood divorce lawyer who talked to Page Six, a prenup would've been the best way to ensure Justin doesn't receive a dime of Hailey's beauty earnings in case of a separation. Since the couple is lacking in that department, things could get tricky.
Why? Well, because California law would take charge if a divorce were to take place, and community property laws would kick into gear. If there's no prenup or postnuptial agreement, the lawyer believes theassets (including Rhode profits, should they be acquired or increased in value during the marriage) could be considered joint property.
But what about Justin's "Baby" money? Well, back in 2023, Justin sold his entire music catalog to Hipgnosis Songs Capital. If the music catalog was created before the marriage, the lawyer asserts, it would be Justin's separate property.
The couple's luxury life includes ownership of six homes (with a $26 million mansion in Beverly Hills and a $16 million pad in La Quinta), as well as a nine-month-old son, Jack Blues. It seems the Biebers are living the high life, with their sun-soaked vacations and full-time security detail.
Without a prenup, the split could get pricey. "These two are traveling every few days on Instagram, they're running around with full-time security, and there's no money coming in for a long time," as one source put it.
- If the Biebers' marriage indeed ends in a split, Justin might want a piece of Hailey's billion-dollar beauty empire, Rhode, considering the absence of a prenuptial agreement.
- With California's community property laws, assets like Hailey's beauty earnings from Rhode, if acquired or increased during the marriage, could potentially be considered joint property between Justin and Hailey.
- Although Justin's music catalog was sold in 2023, if it was created before the marriage, it would reportedly be recognized as his separate property, not subject to division in case of a divorce.
- In the absence of a prenup or postnuptial agreement, the potential split between Justin and Hailey could result in a costly divorce, considering their luxury lifestyle, several properties, and their nine-month-old son, Jack Blues.
