Kärcher constructs third factory in Romania after investing EUR 115 million

A global powerhouse in cleaning technology, Kärcher Group, headquartered in Germany, has marked a significant expansion in Romania with the inauguration of its third production facility. Named CER 3, the new plant, spanning 15,000 square meters, is strategically located in Curtea de Argeș, close to its two prior factories.

Investing EUR 115 million, the project signifies the company's largest industrial undertaking in Romania to date. This expansion reinforces Kärcher's production competence for wet and dry vacuum cleaners, professional dry vacuum cleaners, and scrubber dryers across Europe.

For the first time, the production of turbines and fleece filters for household vacuum cleaners will be integrated at this facility. CER 3 complements the group's existing factories, previously inaugurated in 2016 and 2021. The latest plant will support the local supply chain and create new employment opportunities, with CER Cleaning Equipment currently employing over 1,300 people in Romania.

From 2025, CER 3 will exclusively produce a range of professional floor scrubber dryers for the European market, as well as necessary components such as bags and motors for Kärcher vacuum cleaners. The facility also boasts specialized laboratories for testing cleaning equipment and employs roto moulding technology to produce large plastic components.

Recognizing the importance of this expansion, Ion Bican, Administrator of CER Cleaning Equipment, stated, "The inauguration of CER 3 represents a crucial moment for both the Kärcher Group and CER Cleaning Equipment. This new factory not only expands our capacities but also opens up new opportunities for development and innovation."

The Kärcher Group's involvement in Romania extends beyond manufacturing, contributing significantly to the regional economy and employing a substantial workforce. The strategic expansion in Europe underscores the company's commitment to local manufacturing and supply chain integration.

The Kärcher Group's investment of EUR 115 million in CER 3, its third production facility in Romania, signifies a significant move in the finance sector, demonstrating the company's commitment towards expansion in the manufacturing industry. This expansion, expected to support a local supply chain and create new jobs, also reinforces Kärcher's business operations, particularly in the production of wet and dry vacuum cleaners, professional dry vacuum cleaners, and scrubber dryers.
