KFC Plans 7,000 Jobs and 500 New Restaurants in UK and Ireland by 2035

KFC has announced plans to create over 7,000 jobs and open 500 new restaurants in the UK and Ireland by 2035, investing a total of £1.5 billion. This news comes despite a slight dip in turnover and headcount in the recent financial year. In 2024, KFC's turnover decreased to £280.2m from £294.5m in 2023, and its headcount fell from 2,690 to 2,518. However, the company's pre-tax profit surged to £97.6m, a significant increase from £59.1m in the previous year. This growth can be partly attributed to the takeover of 216 KFC restaurants in the UK and Ireland by the investment group Epiris. The acquisition included the purchase of Clokken and its Irish division from EG Group. Despite these changes, KFC remains committed to expansion, aiming to create new job opportunities and strengthen its presence in the region. KFC's expansion plans, despite recent fluctuations in turnover and headcount, indicate a positive outlook for the company. The takeover of 216 restaurants and the subsequent increase in pre-tax profit suggest a strategic move towards growth. By 2035, KFC aims to create over 7,000 jobs and open 500 new restaurants, demonstrating a long-term commitment to the UK and Ireland market.
