Kiel Customs Raids Catering Industry: 6 Suspected Illegal Residents
On September 19, 2025, the Financial Control of Illegal Employment (FKS) of the Kiel Main Customs Office conducted inspections across multiple cities in the region. The operation targeted the catering and hotel industry, aiming to ensure compliance with minimum wage laws and social security obligations.
A total of 27 employers and 151 employees were inspected and interviewed during the operation. The inspections took place in Kiel, Lübeck, and other nearby towns. Among the employers checked, six cases involved suspicion of illegal residence. In one of these cases, suspicion of document forgery also arose.
