Kroll Appoints Michael Phelan as Strategic Advisor to Boost Anti-Financial Crime Efforts

Kroll, a leading global provider of risk solutions, has appointed Michael Phelan as Strategic Advisor to its Forensic Investigations and Intelligence practice in Australia. Phelan brings a wealth of experience in law enforcement and intelligence, having served in various high-ranking roles.

Phelan's impressive 30-year career includes serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission and Chief Police Officer of ACT Policing. His expertise spans anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and anti-money laundering efforts. He will now enhance Kroll's support for state and federal government clients in Australia, the Pacific, and Southeast Asia.

Phelan will work alongside Kroll's Australian leadership team, including Cem Ozturk, Amanda Wood, and Gary Gill. Ozturk has supported governments in major corruption investigations across the Asia Pacific. Wood led the redevelopment of Westpac's and Commonwealth Bank of Australia's financial crime compliance capabilities. Gill, meanwhile, led the Securency investigation for the Reserve Bank of Australia and heads Kroll's Independent Monitorship of Crown Sydney. Phelan will also support private clients on complex investigations focused on illicit trade, fraud, and cross-border issues.
