Kuwait's PAAAFR to Undergo Major Transformation with UN, KFAED Support
Kuwait's Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) is set to undergo a significant transformation. The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), focusing on the economy, has partnered with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to improve PAAAFR's performance. The project, valued at approximately $685,000, is expected to take around nine months to implement.
The project's primary goal is to develop a roadmap for enhancing PAAAFR's institutional performance. This includes implementing selected projects and initiatives designed to boost efficiency and effectiveness across the Authority. A key aspect involves building a comprehensive database for various departments to streamline operations and aid decision-making processes.
The project also places emphasis on human resource development. It will provide training courses and workshops to enhance the skills and competencies of PAAAFR's employees, aligning with Kuwait's broader goals of modernizing its agricultural and fisheries sectors and improving operational performance in the context of project management.
The grant agreement, signed by Abdulhakim Al-Waer on behalf of FAO, reflects Kuwait's commitment to leveraging international expertise and resources. The project, funded by KFAED, aims to strengthen PAAAFR's institutional performance, ultimately serving Kuwait's food security and economic development objectives.
