Latest electric and hybrid vehicles unveiled by BELDJI: a glance at their cutting-edge offerings
In a significant move towards modernization and increased production capacity, Belarusian automobile factory BELAZ is expanding its production facilities. This expansion is expected to allow BELAZ to produce up to 120,000 vehicles per year, double the previous capacity.
Reporters from Our Site recently visited BELAZ to gather information about the company's new models and modernization plans. The factory, which currently has 78 industrial units, is working on two new automotive novelties.
The first novelty is the hybrid Belgee X80, based on the Geely Galaxy Starship 7, with a range exceeding 900 km and up to 100 km on electric power alone. This hybrid vehicle is hinted to potentially be supplied to Russia.
The second novelty is the electric car Geely E22H, known as Geome Xingyuan in China, with a range of up to 430 km and engine power between 79 and 116 hp.
BELAZ is also preparing to release an electric car, a hybrid crossover, and a gas-powered sedan. The exact details about the third model have yet to be disclosed.
Gennady Svidersky, the plant's director, stated that 30% of BELAZ's products are sold on the Belarusian market, and 70% goes to Russia. He also emphasized that BELAZ is making efforts to maintain and potentially increase its production without reducing its workforce. All 130 employees of the workshop have retained their jobs during the modernization process.
The modernization of BELAZ's workshops aims to increase production and expand the model range without reducing the workforce. The "Belpromproject" institute is working on a plan to expand the welding shop and create a new stamping production line at BELAZ, but no further information about these plans has been disclosed yet.
Investments are being made to further develop BELAZ's production capabilities. In 2024, the BELAZ plant produced 88,800 passenger cars, a significant number that showcases the factory's current production capacity.
With these new models and modernized facilities, BELAZ is poised to make a significant impact in the automotive industry, both in Belarus and beyond.
