Li Auto has reached a milestone of 3,000 supercharging stations, just hours before the launch of the Li i8 model
Li Auto's Supercharging Network Expands, Establishing Leadership in Chinese EV Landscape
Li Auto, a Chinese automaker known for its extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), has significantly expanded its supercharging network, making it the largest superfast charging network among Chinese Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
As of July 2025, Li Auto operates around 3,000 supercharging stations with about 16,671 charging stalls across China. This extensive network spans over 258 cities in 31 provinces, providing comprehensive coverage for its premium electric vehicle users.
In comparison, other major Chinese EV charging networks, such as those operated by NIO and Zeekr, have fewer superfast charging stations. Li Auto specifically claims it has the largest superfast charging network among Chinese OEMs, setting it apart in terms of high-power, rapid charging capability.
The Li Auto supercharging network is not only extensive but also focused on providing rapid charging solutions. While competitors like NIO and Zeekr also have large charging infrastructures, Li Auto's network is tailored towards premium EV users who require quick charging times.
The first beneficiary of this extensive supercharging network is Li Auto's latest offering, the Li i8, the company's first pure electric SUV. The Li i8, which will be launched later today, is equipped with a 97.8-kWh ternary lithium battery and supports a 5C charging rate, enabling it to charge for 500 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes.
The Li i8 is priced within the range of RMB 350,000 to RMB 400,000 (approximately $48,770 to $62,811 in USD, using an exchange rate of 1 USD = RMB 7.1764), making it approximately 25% more expensive than the Onvo L90.
Li Auto started accepting pre-orders for the six-seat Li i8 SUV on July 17, and deliveries are set to begin in late August. The official price of the Li i8 will be announced later today.
The Li i8's launch event will take place in Beijing, marking another significant milestone for Li Auto in its journey towards becoming a leading player in the Chinese EV market.
